Textile Designer
Mujahid Fashion House, Islamabad, 2006 – Present:
- Working as a CAD designer for a team in a highly pressurized design studio with fast turn around times.
- Designing with the use of Ned graphics to create original innovative artwork, re-interpret existing designs, develop seasonal in house and customer collections and create customer presentation boards.
- Also involved in gathering research on current trends in color, fashion, textiles and attending trade fairs and fashion shows.
- Gained the ability to develop and produce color ways (using seasonal colors from company color palettes) for new and existing archive designs by combining colors to create commercially saleable designs.
- Trained new employees to use Ned graphics design system and developed skills to carry out color matching and printer calibration (Epson and Canon printers)
- Carried out general studio and printer maintenance on a daily basis including design data backup.
CAD Textile Designer
Rainbow Collections, Islamabad, 2003 – 2006:
- Involved in constantly updating and cataloguing digital design archive in order to create higher productivity and an efficient work ethic throughout all departments.
- Worked as part of a team creating textile designs by hand and with the use of U4ia, Photoshop and Illustrator (using Macs) designing for a range of home ware product areas including wallpaper, nursery, children’s and adult’s soft furnishings, bedding and upholstery, table ware/linen and gift wrap.
- Working closely with rest of design team and sales director to produce highly accurate print designs for ties, hankies, head squares and scarves for the American, UK, European and Japanese high-end fashion markets.
- Gained extensive experience of working for and dealing with customers both in house and away.
